Chief Executive Officer
Fariba Danesh most recently served as a Senior Vice President & General Manager of Avago Technologies where her responsibilities included LEDs and laser devices. During her distinguished career, she also previously served as Executive Vice President of Maxtor Corporation, Chief Operating Officer of Finisar Corporation, CEO of Genoa Corporation and Vice President of Seagate Technology.
Ms. Danesh holds a B.S. in Biochemical Engineering from Santa Clara University and an Executive MBA from Stanford University. She joined GLO AB as its Chief Executive Officer in September 2010.

Chief Scientific Officer, Co-Founder
and Director
Lars Samuelson, currently Professor of Solid State Physics at Lund University, is internationally recognised for his breakthrough research on low-dimensional structures and the physics and applications made possible by these structures. In recent years, his research has been directed towards new ways for the formation of ideal one-dimensional heterostructured nanowires through self-assembly, their physical properties, and applications of semiconductor nanowires in electronics, photonics and the life-sciences.
Dr. Samuelson is the director of the Nanometer Structure Consortium, started in 1988, which is today the primary center for nanoscience in Sweden. In 2005, the Swedish Research Council identified the research effort “Nanowires for Fundamental Materials Science and Quantum Physics and for Applications in Electronics, Photonics and in Life-sciences”, headed by Lars Samuelson, as one of the top ten scientific environments of all areas of science in Sweden
Dr. Samuelson is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, FinstP, in the United Kingdom, a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (Kungl. Ingenjörsvetenskapsakademien, IVA) and also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, (Kungl. Vetenskapsakademien, KVA), which awards the Nobel Prizes in Chemistry and Physics each year. In 2008, he was named "Einstein Professor" by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Samuelson is the author of more than 450 articles in refereed journals, and has given about 250 plenary/invited talks at international conferences and workshops. He received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics at Lund University in 1977.

Research Coordinator and Co-Founder
Dr. Jonas Ohlsson obtained his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics at Lund University in 2001. The thesis work included nanowire growth and growth of III-V:s on Si. After a time as project leader at Lund University, where he functioned as senior researcher in the nanowire group, he joined glō AB in 2005 and is a co-founder. |

Chairman
K. R. (Kaj) den Daas became a director and non-executive chairman of the board of GLO AB in February 2011. As Chairman of Philips Lighting of North America and Executive Vice President of Philips Lighting BV until his retirement from Philips at the end of 2009, he led Philips in building the largest lighting company in North America through both organic growth and acquisitions (such as Lumileds and Color Kinetics) with an emphasis on the emerging solid state lighting market.
Prior executive assignments in Philips Lighting included stints as Chief Operating Officer of BG Lamps, the largest and most profitable business of Philips Lighting, as CEO Business Unit Lamps EMEA – including Lighting Components, CEO Business Unit Lamps Asia Pacific, Senior VP & General Manager Business Unit Luminaires Asia Pacific and VP & GM Philips Lighting Canada. He holds a Drs degree in Business Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and is a member of the Illumination Engineering Society of North America and a former Governor of NEMA (the National Electrical Manufacturers Association).
Mr. den Daas also serves on the boards of Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed NVC Lighting and NYSE listed Valmont Industries.

Director Mr. Tore Schiotz (54) has served as Group Senior Vice President in Hafslund ASA since November 2006, and as Managing Director of Hafslund Venture since 2001. During the latter period, Mr. Schiøtz played a key role in the development of Hafslund’s ownership in Renewable Energy Corporation (REC). Mr. Schiøtz joined Hafslund from his previous position as Managing Director of the investment company Centurum AS. Mr. Schiøtz also has extensive work experience with Storebrand Spar, where he served as the company’s investment director, and in Accenture as a consultant He has extensive experience within exec. mgmt, corp. finance, and int’l. operation in industry and in the renewable energy sector.

Director Gösta Johannesson has served as a
director of since February 2008. Mr. Johannesson is a
partner of Provider Venture Partners and is former Head of
Equities and ECM at Öhman Fondkommission, a Swedish corporate
finance and brokerage firm and former Head of Sales and Trading,
ECM at Handelsbanken Markets, Equities.
He holds the AMP from
Wharton Business School and BA in business administration and
economics from the University of Uppsala.

Director
Douglas Kirkpatrick joined glō AB's board of directors in July 2010. He serves as a Partner at VantagePoint Venture Partners, having joined VantagePoint earlier in 2010 from the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he worked since 2002. There he helped deploy advanced technologies to US Government applications. For six years he was VP of R&D for Fusion Lighting, a technology company developing and commercializing high brightness, high efficiency light sources. Before that Dr. Kirkpatrick was with Science Applications International Corporation where he managed a division of scientists and engineers.
He received his B.S. degree in Physics and Mathematics from the College of William and Mary, and his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Kirkpatrick has authored more than 30 journal articles and 60 US and international patents.

Director
Steven Morrell has served as a director of glō AB since inception. Mr. Morrell the Managing Partner of Oslo-based Teknoinvest AS, which he joined in February 2001. Prior to joining Teknoinvest, he was the Managing Director for 2 years of a Teknoinvest portfolio company, Aquasmart International AS (after a merger now called AKVAsmart ASA). Mr. Morrell has held numerous positions over the previous fourteen years including Managing Director for Merck & Co., Inc.’s subsidiary in Russia, Central Asia and Caucasia; General Director of Veropharm Co., Ltd (Russia); President of Hafslund Nycomed Pharma AG (Austria) and management consultant in McKinsey & Co., Inc. (Scandinavia).
He currently serves as a Member of the Board of AKVAsmart ASA (Norway), Marical, Inc. (USA), Optinel Systems, Inc. (USA), OAO Pharmacy Chain 36.6 Group (Russia), and Isolagen, Inc. (AMEX: ILE), as well as an Observer to the Board of Cidra Corporation (USA). Mr. Morrell is fluent in English, Norwegian and German as well as conversational in Russian, and holds an MBA (with Honors) from IMD, Switzerland and a B.Sc. degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Aerospace Studies from Brigham Young University.

Director
Magnus Ryde joined glō AB’s board of directors in August 2007 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He graduated from Linköping University in 1979 and Stanford University in 1980 with a MS in Industrial Engineering and later completed an Executive MBA at Stanford University in 1995. Mr. Ryde joined KLA Instruments (now KLA-Tencor) after graduation as Production Control Manager. During his tenure with KLA-Tencor, he managed manufacturing operations, marketing, European sales and service, global field service operations and worldwide sales, service and applications operations and was appointed a corporate officer in 1994.
Mr. Ryde then joined Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) in 1998 as its President of North America. In 2000, he was appointed Chairman & CEO of FlexICs, a flexible display spin-out from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. In 2005 he was named CEO of Intematix Corp., a company specializing in phosphors for light emitting diodes for the solid state lighting market. Mr. Ryde has served on the boards of directors of Micronic Laser Systems AB, Strand Interconnect AB, Innolite AB and Effnet Holding AB of Sweden, as well as NextTech Solutions of the United States and Equipnet Ltd of Israel.
Mr. Ryde is currently a partner and principal in Ryde Invest AB of Sweden, Quan VC and Mars Capital Group LLC in the United States and serves as an advisory board member with Ubidyne GmbH of Germany.

Director
Bart Markus joined the glō board of directors in September 2010. Bart is a seasoned and passionate entrepreneur and is renowned for his relentless drive to internationalise companies and helping them to become successful beyond Europe by conquering the US or Asia. A Dutch native, he has been a General Partner at Wellington Partners since 2000. He primarily focuses on process technologies, in particular in the Electronics and Cleantech areas.
Prior to the past ten years which he spent as an investor in Tech companies, Bart has co-founded three companies including the MRI Centre, now a highly successful chain of private medical diagnostic clinics. He also set up and acted as CEO for ePearle, a pan-European B2B eCommerce start-up.
Before Wellington, Bart was an investment professional at HAL Investments and an Associate at McKinsey working in Holland and South Africa. He started his career as a process control system and project engineer with Shell in Norway. Bart holds an MSc in Applied Physics from Twente University of Technology in The Netherlands and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
